Psychiatric DMT: From Chace to Capello

I   Unit: Psychiatric DMT Theme: Patricia Capello   Introduction  Like Chace, Patricia P. Capello also worked with mentally ill patients. Chace represents the origin of the field in the East coast and Cappello represents the present. She was a Senior Dance/Movement Therapist and Acting Team Leader for the Therapeutic Activities Service at Maimonides. Ms. Capello currently is Associate Chair of the ADTA's International Panel and trains and supervises students in DMT with a specialty in Psychiatry. Her methodology is uniquely hers. She uses pop songs to stimulate her clients movement expression. She combines dance with lyrics that have meaning and connect those who are familiar with the songs.
